Grandview lodge COVID-19 outbreak spreads to residents

Haldimand County’s Grandview Lodge Long-Term Care Facility is saying that they have received four additional positive cases of COVID-19.

An outbreak at the facility was declared on November 3rd when three staff were confirmed to have tested positive. Haldimand and Norfolk Health and Social Services says that the staff members went into immediate self-isolation.

Following the outbreak the facility tested staff and residents. They are now saying that the majority of tests are back, with four additional positive cases – one contracted service provider and three residents.

Haldimand County says that the outbreak currently appears to be contained within one unit of the home. All residents are isolated as required.

All visits within the home have been suspended. Grandview Lodge says they will take all the necessary steps to keep their residents and staff safe.
