Proposal to allow chickens in Hamilton backyards has been rejected

Some Hamilton city councillors are pitching a pilot project that would allow up to thirty residents in the lower city to raise chickens in their backyards.

Some concerns raised at this morning’s planning committee meeting include excessive smell and noise, but residents already raising chickens say it’s no worse than living next to a dog.
