Part of Burnhamthorpe Rd. closed for William Halton Parkway extension project

Part of Burnhamthorpe Rd. in Oakville will be closed for the next month as part of the William Halton Parkway extension project.

The project will see a new east-west corridor created from Bronte Rd. to Ninth Line as part of an effort to service growth and traffic demands.

It will also include a new roundabout, multi-use pathway and new landscaping and street lighting.

Work began in 2018 and is expected to be completed by 2024.

Starting Oct. 19, Burnhamthorpe Rd. will be closed from Trafalgar Rd. to Ninth Line.

It is expected to remain closed until Nov. 20.
