Oakville Montessori school principal arrested on child porn charges

The principal of an Oakville Montessori school has been arrested on child pornography charges, Halton Police say.

James Robert Thompson, 58, was arrested on Wednesday.

He’s charged with two counts of child pornography and one count of accessing child pornography.

Halton Police say he goes by the name Robert and is currently employed as the principal/headmaster at Willowglen Montessori School in Oakville.

The school is a privately-owned daycare facility for children between the ages of 18 months and five years old.

They say the charges are not related to incidents at the school however the Ministry of Education has been notified and will be conducting an investigation.
