Hamilton police admit there is systemic racism within the police service

Hamilton police admitted that there is systemic racism within the Hamilton police service. A joint statement was issued this afternoon, while the police services board discussed a couple of “hot button” topics including body cameras, and a 20 percent reduction in the police budget. The chief of police says a reduction of that size would mean significant cuts to the number of officers patrolling the streets and would greatly impact community safety. Adam Atkinson reports.
