Welland man charged with uttering death threats

A Welland man has been arrested and charged with uttering death threats.

The arrest stems from an incident last week, when Niagara Regional Police were called to reports of an armed person.

This happened around noon on Aug. 13 in the Southworth St. and Ontario Rd. area.

Police say the victims in this incident were not injured and were not actively in danger.

Jeffrey Labbe, 42, was arrested and a search warrant was executed at his home.

He’s charged with two counts of uttering death threats, possession of a prohibited weapon and breach of probation.
