Fire officials say an overnight fire at a home in Stoney Creek has caused over $1 million in damage.

Crews were called to the home on Ridge Rd., near 10th Rd., around 3 a.m. Friday.

Officials say the home was fully engulfed in flames, while items inside an adjacent Quonset hut were also on fire.

More than 13 Hamilton units were called in and a mutual aid tanker was brought in from Grimsby.

Everyone was able to get out of the home safely. No residents or firefighters were injured.

The Ontario Fire Marshal has been called in because of the high damage estimate.

Firefighters remained on scene into the morning to extinguish hot spots.

The cause of the fire is not yet known.
