Man charged with manslaughter in death of teen: Hamilton Police

A 21-year-old man has been charged with manslaughter in the death of a teen girl in Hamilton.

Police were called to a home on St. Matthews Ave. around 4 a.m. Wednesday for a shooting.

A 17-year-old girl was found with life-threatening injuries. She later died in hospital.

Police have identified her as Myah Larmond.

Police say the accused was found and arrested near the scene around 2:30 a.m. Thursday. 21-year-old Devante Skye-Davis has been charged with manslaughter.

The evidence supports “an element of carelessness and recklessness by the accused,” police said in a news release.

Police have still not located the weapon.
