Halton Police remove racist sign from Oakville church

Halton Police are investigating after a racist message was posted on a church sign in Oakville.
Police were called to the Salvation Army Community Church on Rebecca St. on Sunday afternoon.
They say the letters on the board has been re-arranged to spell on offensive message.
Posts on social media show the sign read “white pride.”
Oakville Mayor Rob Burton put out a statement condemning the sign, calling it racist and inflammatory.
The vandalism at Oakville Community Church that has been reported on social media today is racist and inflammatory. @townofoakville, my Council colleagues and I strongly condemn this act of racism. It is not reflective of our community and values. pic.twitter.com/BtDNgHbpIm

Officers were later seen taking down the letters.
Police are investigating this as a property crime.
