Nestle sells bottled water business as permit changes loom

Nestle Canada is selling its bottled water business.

The move comes as Ontario prepares to give municipalities veto power over new water bottling permits.

Nestle is selling to Canadian-based “Ice River Springs,” which currently bottles under private labels.

The deal includes factories in Puslinch, Ontario and Hope, B.C., along with a well in Erin, Ontario.

The price hasn’t been disclosed.
