Man arrested in sex assaults linked to real estate transactions: Hamilton Police

Hamilton Police say a man charged in a string of sexual assaults used real estate transactions as a ruse.

Two sexual assault incidents were reported to police in November 2019.

These happened at residences in the Pearl St. and Peter St. area.

On June 29, police were notified about a third incident in the same area.

According to the Mississauga Real Estate Board, a female realtor alleges she was sexually assaulted by a potential client.

The man told her he had three properties to list.

She went to meet him at one of these properties in the Strathcona area.

She says she was sexually assaulted and notified police.

Mordecai Berlad, 58, of Mississauga has been charged with three counts of sexual assault and one count of forcible confinement.

Police believe there may be other victims.
