Freight train issue causes delays on Lakeshore West line

A freight train issue is causing delays and cancellations on the GO Lakeshore West line.

Train service between Aldershot and Mimico was cancelled around 6 a.m. Friday morning.

According to GO Transit, trains weren’t able to leave the rail yard.

That was resolved around 7 a.m. but trains are moving at reduced speed.

This is causing 20-30 minute delays between Hamilton and Toronto.

Lakeshore West #GOtrain passengers: Trains are now able to depart the rail yard but must travel at a reduced speed through the area. As a result you may experience delays of 20-30 minutes. Thank you for your patience this morning as we worked to get our trains moving.
