“Hate motivated” vandalism at Oakville cemetery: police

Halton Police are investigating vandalism at a Ukranian cemetery in Oakville.

Officers were called to St. Volodymyr Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Oakville on Monday.

A monument in the cemetery had been vandalized with spray paint.

Police believe it happened sometime between Friday and Sunday last week.

They say it’s being investigated as a “hate motivated” offence because of the nature of the graffiti.

Police will not be releasing images of the graffiti.
