Cyclist struck and killed on Third Line in Oakville

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after a cyclist was struck and killed in Oakville.

Police say the cyclist was travelling on Third Line around 8:40 a.m. Tuesday.

She was hit by a car while crossing the on-ramp to the Toronto-bound QEW.

The 52-year-old Oakville woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say the driver of the vehicle has been co-operating with police.

The collision reconstruction unit is on the scene.

The highway is open but the on and off ramps from Third Line are closed.

Any witnesses are asked to contact the OPP Burlington detachment.
