The city of St. Catharines announced that the pavilion at Lakeside Park in Port Dalhousie will be named after the late Rush drummer Neil Peart.

The city consulted with the public and “The Neil Peart Pavillion” had more than 82 per cent support.

Lakeside Park was the subject of a song by the same name that Peart co-wrote for the 1975 Rush album “Caress of Steel.”

Peart died of brain cancer in January at the age of 67.
