Toronto police officer charged with sexual assault in Halton

Halton Regional Police Service have arrested and charged a 53-year-old Halton resident and member of the Toronto Police Service with sexual assault.

Halton police say the officer was off-duty at the time of the incident and the victim was known to him.

They do not believe there are other victims.

Halton police declined to release the name of the accused as it has a high likelihood of identifying the victim.
