Ontario reports less than 300 new cases for the second day in a row

Ontario reported 292 new cases of COVID-19 and 32 deaths yesterday, marking the second day in a row with less than 300 new cases reported.
This comes after several days reporting 400 or more, a figure that was attributed to gatherings over Mothers day weekend.
The total number of cases in the province now stands at 26,483 with more than 20,000 resolved.
12.5 percent of total cases have been hospitalized since the pandemic, while currently there are 847 patients in the hospital and 150 of those in the ICU.
Meanwhile, Premier Ford is scheduled to make an announcement this afternoon.
It comes just one day after the Canadian Armed Services released a devastating report on the conditions in long-term care facilities where there have been 298 outbreaks accounting for nearly 63 percent of all deaths.
