Ontario reports 341 new COVID-19 cases Friday

Ontario is reporting 341 new COVID-19 cases Friday and 27 more deaths.
The latest numbers bring the province’s total to 21,922, including 1,825 deaths and 16,641 cases that have been resolved.
Health Minister Christine Elliot also revealed on Twitter that due to a glitch, Thursday’s numbers were under-reported. Elliot said there were actually 345 new cases that day, instead of the reported 258.
The adjusted numbers mean that the growth rate of new cases has been a steady 1.6 per cent over the past three days.
There are currently 986 people in hospital with COVID-19 and 179 people in intensive care units. The province says 135 of those patients are on a ventilator to assist with breathing.
Nine more outbreaks have been declared at long-term care homes in Ontario, bringing the total to 263.
