HAPPENING NOW:

Prices: oil up, gas down, food climbing

The price of oil has started the week heading in the same direction it was going last week.

The price of a barrel of crude finished Monday $1.02 higher, to close at $105.44 U.S. a barrel – the highest it’s been since September 2008.
The rising cost of oil has sent gas prices higher — until now. It’s expected that a litre will cost nearly a penny less Tuesday morning.
However we’re not getting much of a break when it comes to the cost of food. Adam Atkinson joins us now with more on that part of the story.
