Environment Canada has issued a winter weather travel advisory for Hamilton, Niagara, and Halton regions.

The weather agency says a band of heavy snow moving over Southwestern Ontario is expected to bring five to 15 centimetres of snow Friday morning.

The heavy snow has already caused several problems for motorists during their morning commute.

Police services in regions around the Golden Horseshoe Area have reported multiple collisions.

Drivers are being reminded to adjust to changing road conditions.

Environment Canada warns that visibility may be suddenly reduced at times during heavy snow.

Residents should be on the lookout for adverse weather conditions and take necessary safety precautions.
