A Hamilton man is facing several charges after allegedly being caught selling drugs in public.

Hamilton police were called to the area of Cannon St. East and Ottawa St. North Tuesday for complaints about a man selling drugs in the area.

Following an investigation, the man was arrested and found to be in possession of various illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia. While in custody, police learned the man was on probation and his arrest put him in violation of it.

The 31-year-old has been charged with possession of psilocybin for the purpose of trafficking, possession over 30 grams of cannabis in a public place, possession of cannabis for the purpose of selling, possession of proceeds of crime under $5,000 and failure to comply with probation.

He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court on March 18.
