Man assaulted with foldable multi-tool in central Hamilton

Hamilton police say they were called to a stabbing incident last night in central Hamilton.

Around 8:30 p.m. a caller reportedly told police that someone had been stabbed several times in the back after an argument between neighbours on Napier Street.

Police say while a multi-tool was used in an alleged assault — it was the hilt of a window-breaking device that made contact with the individual and it did not puncture the skin.

A 26-year-old man was assessed and released from hospital.

A 31-year-old was arrested without incident. He’s facing a charge of assault with a weapon.
