Man wanted for alleged kidnapping, car theft at Niagara Falls hotel

Police are searching for a man wanted for allegedly stealing a car with a young woman and child still inside at a hotel in Niagara Falls last Sunday night.
A man had left his grey Dodge Durango SUV to check into the Embassy Suites found at 6700 Fallsview Blvd.
That’s when detectives say the suspect jumped into the vehicle and drove away while the two victims remained in the vehicle.
Police say the suspect then stopped at the Embassy Suites parking lot and forced the woman and child out of the car before once again fleeing the area.
Officers responded to the area around 11:30 p.m. and say there were no physical injuries sustained by the victims as a result of the incident.

Around 12:20 a.m. the following morning, the stolen vehicle was located by investigators in the area of Baldwin Street and Hager Avenue in the City of Burlington. It is believed that the suspect fled the area by stealing another vehicle.
The man has now been identified by police as 38-year-old Jason S. White. He is described as an Indigenous man, with a medium build and dark hair. At the time of the incident, he was wearing a black coat, black sweater and jeans.
Police say White has ties to the Ohsweken area. He is wanted for six offenses, including two counts of kidnapping, one count of assault and one count of robbery.
The accused is additionally wanted by Halton police for break and enter and robbery offences related to the incident.
The investigation by Niagara police is active and ongoing, with the assistance of Halton Police Service and Six Nations Police.
