Man charged after woman held captive, assaulted in Hamilton apartment: police

A man is facing multiple charges after a 26-year-old woman was allegedly held captive and seriously assaulted in a Hamilton apartment building over the weekend.
Police say a distraught woman suffering from significant injuries showed up at Christ Cathedral on James Street North shortly before 9 a.m. Saturday.
Officers say the woman said she had been held captive at an unknown apartment and was assaulted.
Hamilton police then secured the area of the building located at 181 Jackson Street and arrested three people.
Following an investigation, officers charged a 32-year-old man with aggravated assault, uttering threats, assault with a weapon and choking.
There is no word on the current condition of the victim at this time.
