Car erupts in flames at Tim Hortons parking lot off Highway 6

Fire crews from Hamilton were called out to a restaurant off Highway 6 this morning to put out a car fire.
No one was injured, but images captured from the scene show the vehicle sustained heavy damage.
According to witnesses, a customer’s car began smoking while they were making an order in the drive-thru shortly after 8 a.m.

A vigilant Tim Horton’s employee noticed the smoke coming from the vehicle and alerted the customer through the store’s window.
The driver quickly pulled their white BMW into a nearby parking spot and exited the car moments before the entire front end burst into flames.
Authorities were called to the scene, and the blaze was under control in just a few minutes.
It isn’t clear what started the fire.
