The City of Hamilton says most of the encampment residents at Woodlands Park left the park Wednesday evening.

On Thursday, city workers could be seen cleaning up the park.

The city says it issued 33 notices of trespass to encampment residents on Sept. 1, after outreach support workers reported the site was not compliant with the city’s new encampment protocol.

A city spokesperson says Wednesday night, parks workers told housing outreach they noticed residents gathering belongings and leaving.

The city says none of its housing support workers were on site as the residents left.
