Niagara police looking for suspect accused of robbing teenage boy

Niagara police are asking for the public’s help in finding the suspect accused of robbing a 16-year-old boy in St. Catharines last month.

Officers responded to calls of a robbery on July 17 at Queenston St. near Oakdale Ave. shortly after 11 p.m.

Investigators say the boy was approached by an unknown male suspect who verbally threatened him and demanded his belongings.

The suspect is accused of taking the teenager’s phone, shirt and bicycle, which he allegedly used to leave the scene. No weapon was seen and officers say the boy was not injured.

Investigators describe the suspect as a Black man who is between 25 and 30 years old, five-foot-10 and weighs 210 pounds. They say he was wearing a blue shirt, blue jeans, a black hat, purple bandana and blue backpack.
