Hamilton police searching for suspects in restaurant arson investigation

Hamilton Police are asking for witnesses to help in identifying two suspects in a “targeted” arson at a restaurant on July 21.

Emergency responders were called to the Vienna Tavern located at 152 Grenfell St. around 8:30 a.m. on July 21 for reports of a fire.

Investigators found two suspects used an incendiary device to set the building on fire.

The occupants of the apartment on the upper floor were home and asleep at the time.

Police say they are now searching for two suspects in connection with the incident.

Suspect one is described as a white male between the ages of 25 and 35-years-old, tall with a thin build, brown hair and a short beard. He was seen on security footage wearing a black baseball cap with white lettering, a gray hooded top, blue jeans, black and white running shoes and was carrying a backpack.

The second suspect is described as a white male between the ages of 25 and 35-years-old, short with a thin build, shaggy light brown hair, wearing a white surgical mask, light coloured ball cap with a black circle decal, green hooded shirt, black track pants with white stripe on one leg, light brown boots and carrying an oversized thermos.
