Hamilton resident concerned about neighbour’s house collapsing

A Hamilton family says they’re worried about their safety due to the condition of their neighbours’ home.
While the city has put up a fence in case there’s a collapse, it’s right in the middle of their driveway.
Katy Belaire hasn’t been able to park in her own driveway since the end of February.
The abandoned home has been vacant for almost a year and Belaire says back in January a pipe burst in the home and water started pouring out. She called the city to shut the water off.
The next month she called the city again because the corners of the home started to bow, and that’s when the fence was put up just in case the home collapsed.
The city says it’s working on a solution and says the delay is due to waiting for quotes from contractors. Whether the home is demolished or repaired, the city will cover the cost.
