Police seek driver in connection with Grimsby attempted murder

Niagara Regional Police are looking to identify a driver in connection with an attempted murder in Grimsby last month.

Officers were called to the area of Central and Lynwood Ave. on May 13 for reports of a fight between two men.

Police arrived to find a 41-year-old woman suffering from stab wounds. She has been released from hospital and continues to recover from serious injuries.

Alan Timko, 70, of Beamsville was arrested at the scene and has been charged with attempted murder.

Upon further investigation, officers believe Timko may have been hitchhiking in the area of King St. and Thirty Rd. in Beamsville on May 13 around 9:30 a.m. and was driven to the area of Main St. East and Baker Rd. North in Grimsby.

Investigators continue to search for the driver, who is believed to be a white man between the ages of 65 and 70 and was driving a van or SUV.
