Woman struck by vehicle on Fort Erie-bound lanes of the QEW

Emergency crews have taken a woman to hospital after she was reportedly struck by a vehicle on Fort Erie-bound lanes of the QEW early Monday morning.
Niagara Emergency Medical Services say they received the call shortly before 6 a.m. near Gilmore Rd.
Niagara EMS say a woman pulled her vehicle over on the highway, she then got out of her vehicle and was hit by a passing transport truck.

Police say the woman is in hospital, in serious condition, with life-altering injuries.
The Ontario Provincial Police are looking for the driver of a transport truck.
The right lane and shoulder of the Fort Erie-bound lanes of the QEW near Gilmore Rd. have since reopened.
