Hamilton pedestrian struck and killed by pickup truck in Thorold

Highway 20 was closed in Thorold Wednesday night after a pickup truck hit and killed a pedestrian.
Niagara police say the collision happened shortly after 10:30 p.m. in the area of Highway 20 between Princess St. and Egerter Rd.
Officers say they found a pedestrian in critical condition. Despite resuscitative efforts by paramedics, the Hamilton man in his 30s was pronounced dead.

The involved vehicle is a white 2010 Ford F150 pickup truck, which was being driven by a 24-year-old man from Welland.
Highway 20 was closed for most of the morning on Thursday but it has now reopened.
Police say the circumstances leading up the collision remain under investigation and no charges have been laid.
