Two male suspects were not able to make it very far after breaking into a business in Welland thanks to the quick work of police service dog Rudy.

Members of Niagara police were notified Sunday around 2:30 a.m. of a break and enter in progress on Centre St. near Harold Ave. in Welland

Police were told that two suspects were seen running from a secure building, through a hole cut in a chain link fence, and onto train tracks nearby.

This prompted officers to notify the canine unit and soon police service dog Rudy was deployed at the scene. He is trained in general purpose tracking and narcotics detection.
