Hamilton sees another day of gunfire over weekend

It was another day of gunfire in Hamilton on Saturday as two people were reported injured in two separate shootings.

Police say the first shooting happened shortly before 4 a.m. in the area of Upper James St. and Churchill Ave.

One person is reported to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the shooting.

The second shooting on Saturday happened at approximately 5 a.m. on Sherman Ave. North between Barton St. East and Princess St.

Officers arrived on scene to find one man suffering from a non-life-threatening injury and he was taken to hospital.

Police believe the second shooting to be a targeted incident at this time.

An arrest was made on Sunday relating to the first, 4 a.m. shooting on Saturday.

A 19-year-old Hamilton man is facing four separate charges including discharge firearm with intent, point firearm, assault with a weapon, and possession of a schedule one substance.
