Brantford man charged with attempted murder in 2 separate assaults

Brantford police have charged a 35-year-old man with attempted murder following two separate assaults Sunday morning.

Officers first responded around 8:30 a.m. to a home on Market St., where they found a 68-year-old man suffering life-threatening injuries after being assaulted.

Paramedics then brought the man to hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Just one hour later, police responded to a home on Morton St. for reports of another assault.

A 25-year-old man was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators have arrested and charged a 35-year-old Brantford man with forcible confinement, assault causing bodily harm and attempt to commit murder.

Detectives continue to investigate both incidents and encourage anyone who may have information to contact police at 519 756 7050.
