Police continue to investigate Saturday afternoon shooting in Brampton

Police in Brampton are asking for help from the public as they continue their investigation into a targeted shooting on Saturday.

Peel Regional Police say officers responded to calls of gunshots in the area of Bellchase Trail and Highway 50 shortly after 3:30 p.m.

The shooting happened in the area of Bellchase Trail and Highway 50 in Brampton, near Woodbridge.

Officers discovered a man in his 30s lying on a residential street when they arrived. The man was suffering from gunshot wounds and was transported to hospital with serious injuries.

A vehicle was seen fleeing the area with an unknown number of occupants.

The male victim is currently stable and in non-life-threatening condition. Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.
