Firefighters battle industrial fire in Hamilton’s north end

A fire broke out Thursday night in Hamilton’s north end, sending a thick plume of black smoke into the sky.
The Hamilton Fire Department responded shortly after 6:30 p.m. to Bermingham Foundation Solutions, located at 231 Burlington St. East, after receiving reports of a fire in progress.
The blaze was contained to a small, empty warehouse on Ferguson Ave. near the waterfront.

The fire did not result in a significant dollar value lost since crews were already in the process of dismantling the building.
It is believed that flammable wood inside the metal structure caught on fire after torches were used in the process of demolition that day.
The fire department closed Ferguson Ave. from Burlington St. East to Dock Service Rd. to allow crews to work.
