Hamilton police investigate home invasion, shooting downtown

Hamilton police are investigating a shooting and home invasion downtown.

Officers were called to the area of George and Caroline streets around 1 p.m. on Sunday for reports of a shooting.

When police arrived, they say the residence was empty, but several shots were fired inside the home. Police believe this was a targeted incident.

Anyone with information or security camera footage from the area between 1 and 2 p.m. is asked to contact police.
