Halton police have charged an 25-year-old Ottawa man in connection with a human trafficking investigation in the Greater Toronto Area.

Members of the drug and human trafficking unit with Halton police launched the investigation in April 2022.

They issued an arrest warrant for Alexander Clermont, 25, of Ottawa. On Sept. 11, Ottawa police arrested Clermont.

He was turned over to Halton police and has been charged with eight separate charges, including trafficking in persons and assault with a weapon.
