Woman struck by vehicle on Upper Ottawa Street in Hamilton

Hamilton police say a woman in her 20s was struck by a vehicle on Upper Ottawa Street this morning.

Police say at around 8:07 a.m., the woman was crossing the road at a non-crosswalk and was hit by the vehicle. The driver stayed on scene and is cooperating with police.

The woman was taken to hospital in critical, but stable condition.

Upper Ottawa Street is closed in both directions between Beaconsfield Dr. and Bowden St., as well as Larch St. between Lorraine Dr. and Lamb Court.

Police say the area will be closed for a while as they investigate.
