Halton police launch electronic ticket pilot project

Traffic tickets in Halton are going to look a little different because Halton police are launching a pilot project in Burlington issuing electronic tickets.

Carbon copy tickets are being replaced with ones that are filled out digitally for better efficiency and accuracy.

By this fall, officers in Milton, Halton Hills and Oakville will also be using electronic tickets. All front line Halton police will be using them by next year.

Police say with electronic tickets, officers spend less time on paper work and information is automatically linked with records.
