OPP search for missing boater, 74, near Port Maitland
Emergency crews are searching for a missing 74-year-old boater near Port Maitland.
Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) in Haldimand County received a report shortly after 5 p.m. Thursday of a missing man who had gone fishing at 4 a.m. and did not return.
Haldimand County OPP, the OPP Marine Unit, OPP Aviation Services, the Joint Rescue Coordination Centre (JRCC) based out of Trenton, Niagara police and Canadian Coast Guard are all searching for the elderly man.
An OPP helicopter searched the area last night with the help of the JRCC.
