Teen charged, Westdale Secondary School closed Friday after shooting threat

Westdale Secondary School will be closed on Friday as a precaution following a threat of a shooting.

The Hamilton-Wentworth District School Board (HWDSB) made the decision after the threat was found written on a bathroom wall Wednesday.

The HWDSB said an evening performance will also be postponed due to the closure.

Hamilton police have also arrested a 19-year-old Hamilton man, but he was later released. He was charged with two counts of utter threat to cause death or bodily harm.

Hamilton police are currently investigating multiple threats received at a number of schools Thursday.
