Police looking for man in connection with shooting on Hamilton Mountain

Hamilton police are looking for a man involved in a shooting over the weekend.

Police say during the early morning hours of Sunday, May 15, officers responded to a shooting on the Hamilton Mountain in the area of Upper Gage Avenue and Fennell Avenue East.

Officers say they found a victim with a gunshot wound to the torso. They were transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Police are now looking for 36-year-old Carl Richard of Hamilton. He is described as white, 6’0″-6’1″ and around 190 lbs.

He is wanted for attempted murder, discharging a firearm with intent and assault with a weapon.

Police say he is considered armed and dangerous and people are asked not to approach him and call 9-1-1 instead.
