Hamilton police see an increase in the number of ‘grandparent scams’

It’s called ‘the grandparent scam’ and police say it’s on the rise all over Ontario.

Seniors are being targeted and scammed into helping someone they believe is their grandchild.

This scam even has some out tens of thousand of dollars.

Sean Cowan spoke with one couple in Ancaster who came close to giving away $9,000.
