Premier Doug Ford promised to build new highways, rail corridors, and subway systems while spending more than 80 billion dollars over the next decade.

At an event in Woodbridge on Thursday, Premier Doug Ford unveiled his government’s 30-year transit plan.

82 billion to be exact over the next ten years is what the Ford government is proposing.

Ford says the Greater Golden Horseshoe stretching from Niagara to Northumberland is vital to Ontario’s economic health.

Many of these projects are already in the works, like the twinning of the Garden City Skyway in Niagara, that is scheduled to begin construction in 2024.

The twinning of the Garden City Skyway is a massive undertaking, exactly 2.2 kilometres of four-lane highway over the Welland Canal. It’s estimated to cost several hundred million dollars.
