OPP officer taken to hospital after being struck by vehicle in Hamilton

An Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was taken to hospital after their vehicle was struck by another car in Hamilton.
OPP says the officer had pulled over to assist a driver on Highway 403 near Main St. on Monday night.
Police say another vehicle crashed into the officer’s cruiser and then proceeded to roll further down the road.
The officer was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
Police did not say if the driver of the other vehicle suffered any injuries.
OPP is reminding motorists to slow down and move over when approaching emergency vehicles with their lights flashing.
The law requires drivers to slow down and pass parked emergency vehicles with caution. If they are travelling on a multi-lane road, drivers are required to move over and leave one lane between their vehicle and the stopped emergency vehicle.
Drivers who fail to do so risk facing fines as high as $2,000.
