Ontario changing G driving test to help alleviate backlog

The Ontario government is temporarily changing the G-level driving road test to help alleviate a backlog caused by COVID-19 restrictions.
The province says some elements from the G test that are also assessed in the lower-level G2 test, such as parallel parking and three-point turns, will be removed.
Routes taken during the test will also be modified so they are more direct.
The modified test will be in place until at least March 31.
The province says elements in the G2 test will remain the same.
Hundreds of thousands of driving tests have been cancelled since March 2020 due to the pandemic.
