Battle of Stoney Creek re-enactments happen this weekend in Stoney Creek

The re-enactment of the Battle of Stoney Creek takes place this weekend at Battlefield House Museum and Park National Historic Site.
Emily Vukovic was at Battlefield to learn more about the battle that was the turning point of the War of 1812.
This year features Indigenous programming including a narrated ‘Great Peace Game’ of Haudenosaunee Lacrosse being played on the ‘Battlefield’ prior to each re-enactment. After the game the Haudenosaunee singers and dancers will share Gada:tro (Standing Quiver Dance), and the Smoke Dance with audience participation. The Eagle Flight singers and dancers will also perform Sunday at 11am and 3pm.
There will also be a surgeon and a blacksmith doing demonstrations on Saturday and Sunday.
Along with the re-enactments and demonstrations, there is also shopping, food and drink and music.
Admission is free and the re-enactments happen Saturday, June 3 from 10 am-10 pm & Sunday, June 4 from 10 am-4:30 pm.
