Barricaded man on Hamilton Mountain arrested, charges expected

First Published:

A 42-year-old man is in custody nearly four hours after police responded to an incident involving a barricaded person on Hamilton Mountain Tuesday.

Officers said around 12 p.m. that the man barricaded himself inside of a residence in the area of Upper Gage Avenue and Mohawk Road East.

Police spokesperson Krista-Lee Ernst says the man did not have a weapon.

The Hamilton man is expected to face multiple charges, police say.

Nearby residents were asked to avoid the area as police investigated.

East 42nd Street was closed between Mohawk Road East and 10th Avenue, but has since reopened.
